Graduating from Atatürk University Faculty of Dentistry in 2010, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sevda Kurt Bayrakdar completed her doctorate in 2016 at the Department of Periodontology, Ondokuz Mayıs University. Following her doctorate she held academic positions at Ondokuz Mayıs University and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University, and in 2019 began working as an academic at the Department of Periodontology, Eskişehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Dentistry. She received the title of Associate Professor in 2022.
