Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan, DDS MSc MHM PhD, BA, Dr. Hc, is the Dean and Professor of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology at Ankara University, Faculty of Dentistry. He has served as a visiting professor at Shandong University (China), Lublin University (Poland), and Semmelweis University (Hungary), which awarded him the title Doctor Honoris Causa in 2023.
He completed his dental degree in 1998 and his PhD and Maxillofacial Radiology residency in 2002 at Osaka University (Japan) and Ankara University. He became a full professor in 2012 and previously served as the founder and chair of the Dentomaxillofacial Radiology Department at Near East University (2007–2010).
Prof. Orhan has over 500 international publications, more than 12,000 citations, and an h-index of 62, with major contributions to maxillofacial radiology. He has held leading roles in the European Academy of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology (EADMFR) and currently serves as the President of IADMFR (2025–2027).
He is a fellow or member of several international radiology societies, serves as editor or reviewer for more than 50 scientific journals, and has contributed to over 10 books. He has been listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University (2021–2025) and has received several international awards, including the Innovative Dentist of the Year (2020) and the European DentoMaxillofacial Radiology Best Study Award (2008).
Prof. Dr. Kaan Orhan is also internationally recognized for his work in dentomaxillofacial radiology, imaging technologies, and AI-driven innovations in dentistry. In this webinar titled “AI-Powered Radiological Diagnostics in Dentistry: From Panoramic Imaging to CBCT and Beyond,” he will share his insights, clinical experience, and perspectives on the expanding role of AI-enhanced radiology—from panoramic imaging to advanced CBCT applications.
