A few years ago, artificial intelligence (AI) was considered hype, but today it plays an active role in many aspects of human life. Beyond everyday tasks, AI is increasingly applied in research and education. Dental education is no exception; as the number of students rises and the number of educators decreases, AI’s role in teaching becomes even more critical.
This lecture aims to present experiences with AI-based tools in dental education, with a focus on dental radiology. The basics of AI, machine learning, and deep learning, as well as their potential in dental education, will be discussed.
